The Career Puzzle

Don't assume because someone isn't in your field that she doesn't know someone who can help you.

Think of your dreams for your own career as a big table covered over with interlocking puzzle pieces. Treat all the people there like they see an equally important part of your vision and they each have the missing piece of your puzzle. Treat them nicely and they'll set those pieces right down on the table.

Talk to everyone you can about what you're doing career-wise and what you want to do. They'll listen for a while so they can talk to you while you listen. After all, one hand still washes the other.
