Clean Up your Past
We know you may want to say, "what!?!" to that headline. But take a moment to consider it.
Do you have any past relationships that need closure? Is there anyone you are still hanging onto? Still really mad at? It's hard for any of us not to be, and especially harder when we're the ones still holding ourselves back, because our dissatisfactions with other people can be oddly comforting at times.
You need to release those negative feelings. And you can. You can let them go in person, in thought, in writing or mentally. More than likely, some of those feelings have been with you for a while. So take the air out of the energy balloon you've been filling for years. It holds you back.
So forgive that person-or more to the point, yourself-and release yourself from that bad habit of blaming. Write things down, taking time to say exactly what you want to say. Then, put the blame away. You won't need it anymore.
Now you have a clean slate that will let you start fresh in a new relationship.
