Most of us don't really know how to argue.constructively. Here's a big hint: Never Threaten the Relationship!! In other words, if you're in a healthy relationship and it's meaningful to you, you will still disagree and hit rough patches. But, always respect your healthy relationship.
Even during an argument, avoid ultimatums like, "I'm leaving if.." or "this is over if.." Instead, try to listen-and YES we know it's very difficult to shut your mouth in the middle of an argument, but just try.
To promote your partner's ability to listen to you, you may even want to be the first to stop talking. Listen to your partner's side of things first and surely your turn will come to speak and be listened to. If you can both truly listen to each other, you can be pretty sure your relationship is healthy enough to recover from any argument.
