If you've been feeling a little down and out lately, try jumpstarting your brain into feeling better. All you have to do is try something new.
A new ice-cream flavor is a good place to start, but even better, try a new sport. Who cares if everyone else has been playing soccer, basketball or tennis for years? That doesn't mean you can't start playing now. Take lessons, sign up for some clinics or join an intramural team.
If you have to sit on the bench a lot at first, so be it. There are plenty of things you can do while you wait to play. Like squeezing in some new leg-lift routines and stretches that allow you still to watch your team mates while they play. Exercise, particularly when it involves new routines, can literally change your brain chemistry, improve your mood and help you learn better. So you’ll do better in school, too.
Talk about a win-win situation!
