These days, careers don't have to be life-long. In fact, many people-and not just the ones who sell a business when they're young and make a killing-reach the point where their interests change or they feel alienated in some way at work and there's nowhere for them to go for refuge, except to look for another line of work. If that's you, find someone who has made the career/job switch you are contemplating. Ask them every possible question you have. Why the change? How'd you do it? Who helped? What were the road bumps? Were they worth it? Would you make the change again? And so on.
You may want to start your own business. If you don't have plenty of questions, you are not looking deep enough into the possibilities. So, ask an entrepreneur and give him/her a chance to answer you honestly. Most good entrepreneurs appreciate their successes and the sacrifices they and others make to bring something new and good into the world.
